Microsoft planning to show off Xbox One X at Cologne, Germany’s gamescom 2017 next month

Microsoft today announced that they are planning to show off the Xbox One X at gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Coming up in August 2017, this will mark the first time that the Xbox One X will make its way to Europe.

The company also shared that Xbox Fans can tune on on Sunday, August 20, at 9 p.m. CEST, 12 p.m. PDT for a special Xbox @ gamescom live show, hosted by Graeme Boyd and Xbox Germany’s Maxi Graeff. During the show, fans can get up to speed on all the latest news and announcements on Xbox One X.

According to Microsoft, there will be news to hear, games to see, and exclusive sit down talks with developers from some of the best studios. And of course, there is even the chance for giveaways.

If you’re planning to attend gamescom, here is a look at some of the planned activities.

  • On Monday, August 21, starting at 9:00pm CEST, 12:00pm PDT, Microsoft will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Age of Empires franchise with a special livestream event in Cologne, alongside some of our biggest fans. The livestream will celebrate the rich history of the beloved PC game series, as well as give fans a first-look at Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.
  • We will again be hosting an Xbox FanFest experience for our fans who are attending gamescom 2017. FanFest will begin on Tuesday, August 22nd.
  • We’re back in Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse, North entrance, this year and you won’t want to miss the opportunity to play a wide collection of the games coming to Xbox over the next 12 months. See below for the show opening times:

Microsoft is riding a lot of momentum from the announcement of the Xbox One X at E3 2017. The company received three Game Critics Awards for E3 2017, and their E3 briefing was the most popular with over 1 million concurrent viewers.
