Microsoft offers developers guidelines on creating a touch-friendly experience

In a new blog post, Microsoft offers web developers four guidelines to ensure a touch-friendly experience. On top of that, Microsoft continues to recommend Internet Explorer 10 as the browser of choice for a fun, interactive, and immersive experience.

Microsoft offers four guidelines for web developers. First, Microsoft wants to make sure touch users can access all of a site’s functionality. Therefore, Microsoft recommend that content should not hide behind a hover state. Secondly, Microsoft recommends that the internet browser is configured for the default touch behavior that works well for the site. Microsoft also wants to make sure that websites are easier to use with touch. For example, input types should be identified using HTML5 forms and design with enough room for user’s fingers.
