Microsoft may have unveiled the Xbox One entertainment console back in May of this year, but the company did not acquire or register any domain names to accompany the new console in an attempt to keep the new Xbox name a secret.

Microsoft eventually filed a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum in an attempt to snag XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net, which up until now was owned by a private resident living in the United Kingdom. Microsoft is known to have a lot of success when it comes to snagging up domains via filing a complaint, so it came as no surprise when we learned today that Microsoft now owns XboxOne.com.

As of today, Microsoft now owns the domain names XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net, after winning the complaint. No details have emerged if any money was given to the previous owner to acquire these domain names, or if other tactics were used. Either way, Microsoft can now rest easy knowing that they now own the domain name of an important product.
