The official Microsoft News app updated to Version 3.2.28 today on Apple’s iOS smart devices. This latest update was relatively small but adds something that a lot of iPhone and iPad users have been wanting since the launch of iOS 13; support for the new system-wide dark mode setting.
With this update installed, the Microsoft News app will now follow the user’s preferred visual preferences. If the user has selected dark mode as their preferred style on their iOS device, then the Microsoft News app will also display in a dark mode. If the user disables dark mode, then that mode will be automatically disabled within the app too.
Microsoft has been adding support for dark mode in a lot of its iOS apps recently with OneNote, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint all gaining the feature last month.
