Microsoft makes Gears of War the first of two free Xbox 360 games for December 2013
As part of Microsoft’s promotion of giving free games to qualifying Xbox Live Gold members, the devices and services giant is offering the hit game Gears of War as a free downloadable title for those on the Xbox 360 console. The game normally runs for $19.99.
“As our way of saying thanks to our qualifying Xbox Live Gold members, we’re giving you two free Xbox 360 games each month for the rest of the year. Each game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they’re gone and keep them no matter what,” Microsoft explained.
Microsoft is making available two games each month for free to those who have a qualifying Xbox Live Gold membership. The first game will be released on the 1st, while the second game will be released on the 16th of every month. The first game is available for download until the 15th.
Here is the premise behind Gears of War, for those who have never played this game: “The planet lies in ruin – cities crumbling, Man’s greatest works fallen. Humanity is cornered, nowhere to run. The Locust Horde has risen, and they won’t stop coming. They won’t stop killing. The Coalition is desperate for soldiers. The sick, the wounded, the imprisoned are all that remain. An inmate named Marcus Fenix, once left to die, is now charged with keeping humanity alive.”
