Microsoft often tries to maintain their transparency with consumers, investors, and theĀ general public. This is why they publish their roadmaps, direction of where their company is navigating and what they want to accomplish, online for all to see. Unfortunately, it looks like the former Office 365 Roadmap Site was having an issue, so Microsoft has ditched it in favor of a new home.

This morning, Product Marketing Manager Brian Levenson announced the move to the Microsoft Tech community with the following statement:

The Office 365 Roadmap has moved to a new home, but the URL is not all that is changing! We are improving the experience on mobile devices and making it easier to quickly review details of roadmap items. By popular request, the items on the roadmap will also include a unique ID, which will be used in the Message Center communications as well. And donā€™t wFeaturey, we will redirect roadmap.office.com to the new site.

(Note: Due to an issue with the priorĀ Office 365 Roadmap website, we made an emergency decision to proceed urgently with the new site. Accessibility fixes and ongoing improvements will be forthcoming.)

As often Microsoft does, they are asking for your feedback about the new roadmap. Many users have commented so far about having issues with copy and pasting content, since much of the information is provided in hover pop-up dialogue boxes. Another reminded Microsoft that even though they used the old URL, it wouldn’t work as promised. Instead, it would give a 404 error since it wasn’t localized to their country.

That being said, the site seems to run smoothly so far. Make sure to check it out and give feedback if you can.
