Microsoft likely to launch Lumia 830 in India at its October 1 event

In India, Microsoft is prepping for the launch of its recently announced Lumia 830. The company has sent out media invites for an event scheduled on the 1st of October. While Microsoft hasn’t mentioned the handset’s name, we believe it is Lumia 830, as several posters of the handset can be spotted outside various Nokia stores. It is also consistent with a report from earlier this month, which claimed that Microsoft will be launching the device in India in October, and another report which saw stocks of Lumia 830 arrive in the country last month

That said, the handset could also be the Lumia 730, since the invite looks a lot similar to the Lumia 730’s international teaser. Meanwhile, despite being listed on several e-commerce sites, the Lumia 930 is still not unavailable for purchase in the country.

For a refresh, the Lumia 830 sports a 5-inch display with 720P screen resolution. Inside the device sits a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, which could be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone sports a 10-megapixel camera, a feature that until recently was only available on high-end premium handsets, coupled with a 1-megapixel camera on the front. It carries a 2,200 mAh battery.

The Lumia 730, on the other hand sports a 4.7-inch display with 720P screen resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 6.7-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. It packs a 2,220 mAh battery.
