Microsoft launches local Xbox LIVE servers in Australia thanks to Azure

Microsoft has finally unleashed local servers onto Australian folk who wish to play on Xbox LIVE, thanks to a number of new Azure servers based in that area. Xbox One gamers can now connect to servers much more close to home than before, which should ultimately speed up things over all and reduce lag.

If you’re a gamer based in Australia, you don’t have to do anything to take advantage of the new servers. The change should be done via the back end, behind the scenes. There will be no update or anything, it’ll simply just work.

Games which take advantage of the cloud should now operate much better than before, with low-pings and local servers. What are your thoughts on this change? Leave them in the comments below.
