Excel Office 2016

The Office 365 team has officially issued the September 2016 update for Get and Transform and the Power Query add-in. The release comes after many Office 365 customers requested the features, and are all part of the constant Office updates which are included in an Office 365 subscription.

According to the Office team, the new Get & Transform features are an Enhanced Web connector and an Enhanced CSV and Text connector. The web connector was updated to allow users to specify a Command Timeout value from the connector UX dialog, and the Enhanced CSV/Text connector was upgraded to allow users to easily import data from Fixed-width delimited CSV and Text files.

These new features should be rolling out automatically to Office 365 users now, and can also be manually downloaded by going to File, Account, Update Options, Enable Updates, and Update now. Excel 2010 or Excel 2013 Users,  meanwhile, can take advantage of the update by heading here to download the latest Power Query for Excel add-in.
