If you’re looking to buy a Surface Laptop, there is now one more model to add to your list. As noted by Neowin, Microsoft is now introducing a new Intel Core i5 Surface Laptop with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD for $999.
Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop model can be found here at the Microsoft Store, and it’s the same $999 price as the now out of stock Core i5 Surface Laptop with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. This looks to be part of a new pattern because Microsoft faded out the 4GB RAM Core i5 Surface Pro model in favor of one for 8GB RAM.
The Core i5 Surface Laptop with 4GB RAM was also recently on sale for $799, so it definitely looked as though Microsoft was getting rid of stock. Anyway, the 8GB of RAM packs more power for consumers and can make a difference when multitasking and browsing the web.
