Microsoft, "Inspired By" those empowered by technology, starts Tumblr page

Microsoft - Tumblr - Inspired-by

Microsoft wants to shine a spotlight on people who use technology to achieve great things. To date, Microsoft hasn’t had a presence on Tumblr, the popular microblogging and social networking platform, and the company has chosen this message of inspiration as the focus of its new Tumblr presence.
Dubbed “Inspired by,” the Tumblr site will provide short blurbs and imagery to identify those who “embod[y] the spirit of Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more.” Sounds good to us, and so why Tumblr? Here’s Microsoft’s reasoning:

Tumblr provides a platform and an audience perfectly suited to capturing their creativity with vivid imagery and rich animation. We’re looking forward to joining the Tumblr community and engaging with others who inspire us and use technology to break barriers.

We’re not sure if Microsoft really thinks Tumblr is the best platform for this particular content, or if the company just wanted to create a Tumblr presence and this theme was deemed most appropriate. Either way, it’s a nice message and highlights Microsoft’s impact on the lives of many people.
