Dropped in to today’s blockbuster blog post announcing Windows 10 sales and more, Microsoft CVP Yusuf Mehdi mentioned that Microsoft’s newest flagship phones, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, are “off to a great start”, with initial demand outstripping our supply:

The first Windows 10 phones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are now available worldwide and off to a great start, with initial demand outstripping our supply.  We’re working actively to resupply the many stores which ran out of initial stock.

Both Carphone Warehouse and Amazon in the UK have pulled the Lumia 950 XL from their “shelves”, with Microsoft clarifying that in the case of Carphone Warehouse, the phones were pulled due to availability and not any other problems with the phones.

We’re still waiting to hear back from Microsoft regarding Amazon’s decision to pull the Lumia 950 XL in the UK.
