According to email sent by Microsoft to Office 365 Home subscribers in India, the annual price of Office 365 Home purchased directly from Microsoft in India will change from ₹4,199.00 to ₹4,619.00. The new price will be reflected with your next payment after January 11, 2017.
Microsoft has shared that this price hike is a result of periodic assessment of pricing aligning the needs of customers, partners, and the marketplace.
However, there’s no indication if this change is owing to the new 15% service tax, announced by Government of India last month and effective from December 1, for digital services provided by non-residents that is applicable on B2C sales. The tax applies on all digital products and subscriptions purchased from outside India.
