During an interview, Microsoft was quoted saying that they would not be building their own Windows Phones, following the introduction of the Surface tablet, which is the company’s first in-house created Windows 8 tablet device.
“No, we do not,” Microsoft stated when asked if they were going to build their own Windows Phone device. “We have a strong ecosystem of partners that we are very satisfied with,” Microsoft added. Microsoft has already revealed that it plans on using hardware makers such as HTC, Nokia, Samsung, and Huawei to build Windows Phone 8 devices. Microsoft recently announced the Windows 8 powered Surface tablet, which not only comes in two flavors, but is also the company’s custom built tablet.
