Microsoft Flight Simulator is getting World Update VI, Local Legends, and multiplayer races this fall

| |

Microsoft Flight Simulator successfully took off on Xbox Series X|S consoles last month, and Microsoft detailed today some cool upcoming updates launching this fall. First of all, the free World Update VI will be released in the in-game marketplace on September 7th, and it will bring new aerial imagery, high-resolution elevation maps and several brand-new 3D cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The game will also receive a new series of updates called “Local Legends,” which will bring iconic aircrafts to the game as paid DLCs. The first Local Legend that will go live with the World Update VI next month is the Junkers JU-52, a German plane from 1930 that has been recreated in the game in great detail.

More updates are coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator later this fall, including a free Top Gun: Mavericks DLC that will be released alongside the movie. The game will also welcome new aircrafts from Volocopter, a German company creating eVTOL ((electric vertical take-off and landing) air taxis.

Last but not least, Microsoft Flight Simulator will also add competitive multiplayer races with Reno Air Races, launching later this Fall. This should be an exciting update for simmers, and we're looking forward to getting more details in the coming weeks.
