Last month, Microsoft introduced the affordable Lumai 540 smartphone, which is expected to see the light of the day in multiple regions this month. It’s basically a slightly better version of the Lumia 535 with an improved display. The new budget-friendly handset is expected to launch in India tomorrow as Microsoft has started sending out press invites for an event. The invite reads, “Come. Meet us to welcome the newest member of the Microsoft Lumia family.”
As a quick recap, Microsoft Lumia 540 comes with a 5-inch display sporting a 1,280 by 720 resolution. There’s a quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage coupled with a microSD card slot for extra storage. Other features includes an 8MP camera for photos and videos, 5MP front-facing camera, a 2,200 mAh battery and Windows Phone 8.1 as its operating system.
We’ll update you as soon as the handset is officially unveiled in India, including its availability and pricing details.Further reading: Lumia, Lumia 540, Microsoft, Windows Phone
