Microsoft erects enormous Surface 2 in London’s Trafalgar Square
For those of you who are near London’s Trafalgar Square, Microsoft has erected a 27ft wide and 17ft tall Surface 2 device in celebration of the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 launch.
Obviously, Microsoft erected this large 30 foot tablet to draw attention to tourists and those commuting through the area. With the recent launch of the new Suface 2 devices, this marketing ploy is great to spark interest from those who were unaware of the new Microsoft tablets.
Microsoft also brought along British rapper Dizzee Rascal to “use” the super-sized tablet. The large tablet is actually connected to an actual Surface 2 device, which then projects the display onto the large screen.
“This unique experience would not have been possible without the team at design and fabrication experts Helix. The London based team were responsible for bringing the vision of a giant Surface to life; enabling the public to physically trial the new device and see for themselves how all the functions and features work,” Microsoft stated in an official press release. Construction of the giant tablet took 13 days to complete.
If you happen to be in the area, head over there and check it out. It would be nice to take some snapshots next to the large Surface 2 device.Further reading: Microsoft, Surface 2
