Microsoft has unveiled a new partnership with the e-commerce platform Shopify to improve the shopping experience for consumers living in the Microsoft ecosystem. The company has announced that shopping tabs in Microsoft Edge and its Bing Search engine now display listings from 1.7 million Shopify sellers, and this Shopify integration is also coming soon to its new personalized news service, Microsoft Start.

“Using the Shopping tab on Microsoft Bing, and Microsoft Edge, you will now see more diverse products, better prices, and improved discovery of deals. You will also be able to simply check out via the Shopping tab on Microsoft Bing quickly and securely,” the Microsoft Bing team explained.

Microsoft Edge and Bing may not be as popular as Google and its Chrome browser, but this partnership should still benefit Shopify merchants by bringing more eyeballs to their brands and products. Microsoft has created a dedicated Channel app where merchants can connect with shoppers, and their products will automatically show on the Shopping tab on Microsoft Bing and the Microsoft Start Shopping tab for free.

The Redmond giant noted that the new partnership is just the beginning of enhancements it has planned for those looking to save some money this holiday season, and it plans to bring more shopping features to its products soon. “We are excited to create new and meaningful connections between shops and shoppers for this season and beyond,” the Microsoft Bing team said yesterday.
