Microsoft Edge Insider Beta channel gets its first update

Late this afternoon, Microsoft announced that version 83 of its Edge browser is now heading to the Beta channel. The release comes with the ability to sync extensions, and also some new features for Collections as well.

As a reminder, today’s build 83.0.478.13 is replacing Edge version 81 in the Beta channel. Edge version 82 was skipped over due to the Coronavirus crisis. Along with the ability to sync extensions, the latest release delivers on a new option to choose colors when inking on PDFs.

There’s also been some improvements for the immersive reader, on top of the options to add multiple tabs to Collections. Moreover, you can also now enjoy the new Edge Surf game when offline, or by opening a new tab and typing in edge://surf.

Microsoft hasn’t officially released a changelog for this release yet, but you can still update now by heading to the options menu. Once there, simply click Settings, choose About Microsoft Edge, and allow the browser to download the update.
