The Microsoft Surface RT tablet is arguably one of the most popular Windows RT tablets out there, but the Windows RT ecosystem as a whole appears to be struggling. Because of this, it appears Microsoft is planning to drop the price of its Surface RT tablets next week.
The price cut means the base model of the Surface RT will be $349, a $150 price cut from the original price. Microsoft recently teased new Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets, which means this price drop for the current models could be an attempt to get rid of current stock in place for the new models later this year.
- Surface RT 32GB – $349.99
- Surface RT 64GB – $449.99
- Surface RT 32GB with Touch Cover – $449.99
- Surface RT 64GB with Touch Cover – $549.99
Update: This has now been confirmed as Staples has released their weekly advertisement showcasing the discounted Surface RT device. You can see that advertisement here.
