Are you still puzzled whether Microsoft Defender is worth the hype and whether or not you should have it installed on your device? Well. this will help you come to a step closer to making that decision.

In December 2021, AV-Test.org, an IT company domiciled in Germany released a report, comprised of the best anti-virus programs, especially for WIndows 10 home users.

Testing and Analysis

During the analysis to determine the best program, 20 anti-virus programs were tested, among the crop was Microsoft Defender. Other programs included in the analysis were Kaspersky, Avira, Norton, and ESET.

In the end, the IT company came to similar results as the ones released in the October 2021 report. Microsoft Defender managed to get the highest ranking during the test, 18 points, this saw the program earn the title “AV-TEST TOP PRODUCT” certification. Some of the main categories that were used to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of a program include protection, performance, and usability.
