Microsoft confirms 'early 2013' release for Windows Phone 7.8

Sad times for everyone who decided to hang on to their beloved WP7 device. Windows Phone 7.8 won't be here anytime soon, as the company have today confirmed that the Windows Phone 7.8 update won't be hitting devices until early 2013, just as previous rumors stated.

"We know you’re eager to get the Windows Phone 7.8 update, and we want you to know that we’re working closely with our hardware and carrier partners to get it tested, approved, and rolled out to as many devices as possible in early 2013." Said the blog.

This is obviously sad news, especially if you have no plans on upgrading your current Windows Phone 7 devices.
