Microsoft Authenticator app updated, bringing 2FA to Google,Facebook accounts

| |

Back in January, we brought you the news that a Microsoft Authenticator app appeared on the Windows Store. Then, earlier this month, we told you that the app finally surfaced for Windows 10 Mobile Fast Ring Windows Insiders to download. Today, and as noted by WinBuzzer, we can report that the Authenticator app has received an update, bringing support 2-factor authentication to Google and Facebook accounts.

While the app is still only available for Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring, you can still download the app and enjoy this update by switching your device over to the fast ring. You should be warned, though, that the app is not final and can change once it launches out of the Insider testing mode. The update, however, still brings an extra layer of protection for those who have added a Google or Facebook account to the application.

If you're one of the folks who are running Windows 10 Mobile on the Fast Ring, you can get the app by checking out the download link below. As always, though, be sure to come back here and let us know how the Authenticator experience is going by dropping us a comment below!
