The Microsoft Cloud has reached new levels in bringing the power of Microsoft Azure to customers in regions across the world.  Microsoft’s cloud services have been enhanced for customers in Canada, Germany, and the United States, thus marking a significant expansion of Microsoft cloud services.  The total amount of Azure regions is now up to 30, and this means more choices for Microsoft Cloud customers across the world.

As part of this, and here in the United States, Microsoft is establishing two new physically isolated Azure Government regions for Department of Defense and DISA Impact Level Impact 5. These regions are designed to meet the DoD security control and compliance requirements and will fit the requirements of the DoD workloads and data level 5.

In Canada and Germany, Azure Canada and Azure Deutschland (Microsoft cloud with German data trustees) have started the expansion of Microsoft’s cloud services. Here, an operational preview of Azure cloud services will be rolled out by these teams to selected customers. Combined with in-country data residency, the preview will give customers the benefits of Azure services and enterprise-grade reliability and performance.

In line with the other expansions, at the business IT event CeBIT Microsoft Germany also announced the availability of regional Azure IoT hub. This addresses the evolution of businesses and the growing digital transformation of the Internet of Things movement.
