Microsoft announces office for ipad, office 365 subscription required for editing

Apple iPad is one of the most popular tablets available in the market today, not just among teens, but many working professionals as well. However, there’s one big thing which is missing from the App Store since the inception of the tablet — Microsoft Office. Although there are several apps available in the App Store that can serve the same purpose, Microsoft has an edge over the competition as it can offer users with way more features.

For those of you who are waiting for the Office for iPad, the moment is finally upon us. After countless number of rumors, Microsoft took the wraps of Office for iPad at their press event in San Francisco, which will hit the App Store later today at 11AM PST. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps will be available for download for all users.

We’ve been hearing about the arrival of Office for iPad since 2012. No matter if its late, its finally here at the disposal of all iPad users. For those of you who are wondering about its functionality, it will make use of the Office 365 subscription for editing features, which costs $9.95 per month — Microsoft also announced a personal subscription which costs $6.99 per month. The app is free if you just want to read and present documents to your clients, boss or during a presentation in your school.
