SharePoint was released on iOS less than a month ago, and it's already getting significant updates and feature additions. In today's update to SharePoint, Microsoft added in "news posts." This feature lets people post reports to keep people updated on the status of projects, share meeting notes and do just about anything else that would fall under the umbrella of news.
Here's the description of the feature from the patch notes:
You can now create news posts in the app! Within a team site, tap the new 'add' option to start creating your news post. You can add rich text, photos, or documents to your posts. Publish team status, trip reports, important documents, and more…now from your phone. If you don't see a news tab in your SharePoint app, the news service hasn't rolled out to your organization yet. But, it is coming, so stay tuned! Available for SharePoint Online only.
The update is still in the middle of rolling out, so some users may not necessarily have this feature available at the moment. If you open up SharePoint and don't see the new "add" option in your team site, just give it a while, and you should get the update sooner or later.
