Surface Book Panos Panay

Ever since the entrance of the Surface Book about a year and a half ago, the detachable 2-in-1 laptop has been a big hit for the Surface family and even still continues to make Microsoft money. Today, Neowin reported a new configuration model for the Surface Book with improved specs.

Taking advantage of the Intel Core i7 processor, the new SKU amps up this newest version of Surface Book all the way to $2,999. In comparison to the other more expensive 1TB SSD model released earlier this year, this one doesn’t have a discrete GPU, but it’s $200 cheaper.

Here are the specs:

  • 6th Gen Intel Core i7, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM
  • 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display
  • Surface Pen included
  • Windows 10 Pro

Unfortunately, the listing from the Microsoft Store doesn’t let you purchase the new i7 Surface Book just yet. Instead, it greets interested parties with an inconvenient “Out of Stock” notice. Looks like we’ll have to wait for an official announcement before they start shipping out.
