Microsoft finally releases modern Outlook.com app for Android, no longer looks like crap

Back in November of 2012, Microsoft released an Outlook.com app for Android. Immediately, you could notice that the app was outdated and features styles from an older version of the Android operating system. The bottom like was, the app sucked.

Today, Microsoft has announced an update Outlook.com app for Android and it looks gorgeous! “We’re excited to announce a major upgrade for our Outlook.com app for Android devices that overhauls the entire user interface and provides a number of new features,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

In the blog post, Microsoft admitted that the Outlook.com Android app was lagging behind and needed some work done. “However, our Android app has been behind and so we’re excited to take this large step forward. Starting today, you can get the same great Outlook.com look and feel you’ve come to love on Windows 8 and the web on your Android device,” Microsoft explained.

The new app not only features a new look but also features conversation threading, filters for unread and flagged mail, as well as the ability to mark messages as junk.
