MeruCabs and LIC Mobile apps now available on Windows Phone Store

If you live in India and use a Windows Phone, you should probably head to the Windows Store and get your hands on these handy new apps. After the debut of the cab-centric app Uber in India, things have started to change. Until recently, in a market that didn’t have many apps in this category, there are now a plethora of options available. In addition, we have the official app of LIC Mobile, now available on Windows Phone 8. So without further adieu, let’s see what’s in store.


Using GPS tracking to offer you services like e-bills, “Meru Cabs is best known for high quality services to its passengers enabled through technologies like GPS, GPRS based tracking and dispatch, speed alarm, trip tracker facility, e-bill etc. This App is also a step towards enhancing the passenger experience by enabling a cab booking within a minute,” its app description reads.

LIC Mobile

With a service valued at over $250 billion dollars, Life Insurance Company of India is the largest insurance company in the country. If you’re an LIC agent, you can also make use of the customer directory and premium calendar with due notifications regarding customer info. Another handy feature is the branch locator.

Options for viewing LIC Insurance Plans, Premium calculation, Checking Policy Details, Applying for New Policy and getting LIC Branch contact information,” its app description reads.

Using the app, you can also choose to be notified for news and key events, and it also lets you compare the premium plans, against other services.
