Lumia Voices to shut down April 12th

Lumia Voices will close its Twitter account on April 12, 2016. Lumia Voices gave insight on why people loved their Lumias and how they used them in their everyday lives. Lumia Voices highlighted the power of Lumia cameras, like those on the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, and how Lumias helped people chronicle their adventures in life.

On Reddit, some are seeing the closure of Lumia Voices' Twitter account as another sign that Microsoft is slowly stepping away from Windows 10 Mobile. According to zuchit on Reddit:

"LumiaVoices played a huge role in giving some exposure to Lumia enthusiasts who loved doing photography on their Lumia. It also used to send out Lumia phones to people who wanted to try new Lumia phones. With this move, MS (Microsoft) is taking another step back in their fading mobile presence."

Others, like MrStruggleSnuggle, disagree that Microsoft is giving up on Windows 10 Mobile:

"I think it's taking a step back from the failed Lumia line. They aren't giving up on W10M."

Microsoft may just be preparing a different marketing strategy rather than giving up on Lumias altogether. Lumia Voices is still alive and well on Microsoft's dedicated website. No one will know which way Microsoft is going until we see what happens at Build 2016 tomorrow.

Stay tuned to WinBeta tomorrow for the latest Build 2016 coverage!
