The new Lumia Denim update promises a number of great features for Windows Phone Lumia devices. From support for 4k video through the new ‘Lumia Camera’ app, to new touchless activation for Cortana (only for devices with a Snapdragon 800 series processor), users are understandably eager to get to grips with this new update.
However, as with the previous 8.1 Cyan update, it has become apparent that this process might take a while, with major UK carrier O2 confirming as much earlier. Claiming that they have not yet received the necessary software from Microsoft to begin the roll-out of the update, they go on to state that customers will have to wait a maximum of 2 months before receiving Denim, most likely starting from January 2015.
Microsoft has previously said that users of the Lumia 930 and 1520 among other devices will see the update before the end of this month, however users of older devices have been left in the dark. What is certain is that this will be a drawn-out process, especially for international users.Further reading: Lumia, Lumia Denim, Microsoft, O2, Windows Phone
