Lumia 925

Back at Build 2014, Microsoft unveiled the next major version of the Windows Phone operating system, Windows Phone 8.1 which introduced a whole load of needed features. Microsoft support pages said the product lifecycle will begin on June 24th, with the update hitting existing Lumia devices in the coming weeks. We even came across a Lumia Cyan leaked roadmap for the Benelux region, stating that it will start rolling out next month.

Well, things might be a little different for folks rocking a Lumia 925 in Finland. It seems the pilot version of the update is rolling out for Lumia 925 users in the Finnish area. To get the update, make sure you have at least 1.5GB of free space for the update to install. The update is rolling out over-the-air, and users in the region should get it very soon. The good news for Finnish Lumia 925 users doesn’t end there either, Nokia says users can take their device to the flagship store in Helsinki, Alexander street on June 26th and 27th, and get the update installed on their device.

For customers who will buy the Lumia 925 from the same flagship store will also get the latest Windows Phone 8.1 as the operating system out of the box, so if you’re short on budget, you can try the Lumia 925, instead of waiting for the Lumia 930.

It’s not just Finland either, a report also suggests that the Lumia Cyan update is also rolling out for Lumia 925 and 1020 owners based in Argentina. To see if its available, you may want to check for the update by going to the Settings app.

If you’re based in any of the above-mentioned regions, let us know if you are getting the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update.
