Lumia owners are used to being prioritized over other Windows Phone OEMs, not only in terms of the top notch hardware, but also when it comes to exclusive apps and software updates. Although, the latest available firmware, Lumia Cyan, has had its fair share of rollout hiccups since its introduction alongside the Windows Phone 8.1 update.
Matters only got worse for those of us signed up to the Preview for Developers program – that gives us early access to newer Windows Phone updates – when Microsoft had to put a hold on the firmware’s release due to bugs in the upgrade process, particularly the low storage error messages. Good news is that it seems all is about to change more rapidly than it has since last week.
Microsoft has now reported that along with the new update for Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, the company will be delivering the Cyan update to more Lumia devices in the Preview program, with even more devices to be added “every couple of days over the coming weeks”. No details of the exact devices to receive the update have been mentioned, but you can at least rest assured that if you don’t have Cyan yet, you’ll be getting it pretty soon.
For those of you not enrolled into the Preview for Developer program, you will receive Cyan as detailed by Nokia here.
