It’s now been nearly six months since Microsoft released its fifth generation Lumias in select markets, and we’ve already reported several times that both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have been receiving interesting discounts by various retailers in different markets. While the Lumia 950 was originally launched with an average retail price of £499.99 in the UK, we reported a month ago that Amazon had reduced the price of the handset to £344, which was its lowest price to date in the country.
Well, we’re not sure if that is something to celebrate but the Lumia 950 is again available for purchase for less than £350: Neowin spotted that retailer Debenhams Plus was currently selling the SIM-free black model for £349.97 (free delivery included), which is fairly close to what Amazon was asking for it a month ago (Amazon currently sells the SIM-free black Lumia 950 for £359.99).
As we may not get a successor to the Lumia 950 before Microsoft releases the Windows 10 Redstone 2 update in April 2017, the Lumia 950 may well become the “affordable flagship” Windows phone while third-party OEMs such as Acer, Alcatel One Touch, and HP also have premium Windows 10 Mobile handsets in the pipeline. Do you think the Lumia 950 is worth purchasing at this discounted price? Please tell us what you think in the comments.
