Earlier this past week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 14267 -- the first Redstone preview build as part of the Windows Insider Program for mobile users. Unfortunately, for those of you who own a Lumia 550, Microsoft is now urging you to hold off on upgrading to this build.
"Several Windows Insiders with a Lumia 550 have reported an issue where their phone no longer charges or connects via USB after upgrading to Build 14267. If you have a Lumia 550, we recommend holding off going to this build," Microsoft stated in an updated blog post.
For those who are facing this issue, Microsoft recommends rolling back to build 10586 via the Windows Device Recovery Tool. Basically, connect your phone to your PC via USB, open the Windows Device Recovery Tool, and select "My device was not detected." Then choose "Lumia" and turn off your phone and let it reboot in order for the tool to detect your phone and work its magic.
For now, avoid build 14267 until Microsoft fixes the issue and rolls out the updated build to the slow ring.
