Microsoft Lumia 550 went on sale at Carphone Warehouse last week, but it seems the retailer has decided to drop the price of the handset within a week after its launch (via Neowin). In the UK, the Lumia 550 carries a £99 price tag, as well as a variety of pay-as-you-go (PAYG) plans to choose from.
Previously, the lowest PAYG plan was £69.99 plus £10 for a new PAYG SIM, which brought the total cost to £79.99. However, starting today, customers interested in the handset can grab it for £69.99, including the upfront cost as well as the price for the new PAYG SIM card — a reduction of £10 over its existing price.
If you already have a PAYG SIM, it’s even cheaper. The retailer is offering the upgrade with Vodafone for just £49.99 with Virgin and O2 charging £59.99 for the upgrade. Nonetheless, it’s a decent price if you’re looking for a spare phone to carry around, and Windows 10 Mobile is your operating system of choice.Further reading: Lumia 550, Microsoft, Windows 10 Mobile
