LinkedIn Messaging to use Google’s Tenor for GIF search

Over the past couple of months, LinkedIn completely revamped its messaging service by adding a presence system, conversation starters and smart replies. The professional social network may probably not the place where you want to goof around with your contacts, but LinkedIn has just announced that GIF support is coming soon to LinkedIn Messaging.

“Seven in 10 Americans use GIFs and other visuals like emojis in their conversations, and this trend has moved to the way people communicate at work as well,” the company explained in a blog post today. This GIF integration is possible thanks to a new partnership with Tenor, a GIF search engine that was recently acquired by Google.

GIFs in LinkedIn Messaging are rolling out today on the LinkedIn Mobile apps, and all users should be able to use them in the coming weeks. LinkedIn recently introduced Filters and Text for LinkedIn Videos, and we hope another Snapchat Stories clone isn’t coming next.
