Today, Microsoft announced a limited preview of their Azure Container Service for Windows Service. The service is supposed to optimise different open source tools for use with Azure.
The Azure Container Service combines Azures technology and management with DC/OS or Docker Swarm, and makes it easy to manage containers within different environments.
With the Azure Container Service, you get an open solution that offers portability for both your containers and your application configuration. You select the size, the number of hosts, and choice of orchestrator tools, and Container Service handles everything else.
Microsoft is trying to aim at full cross-platform compatibility with their Azure service, and expanding the Container Service to Windows Server makes it possible for more I.T professionals to make use of the tools offered.
