It looks like the public rollout of Windows 10 version 21H1, also known as the May 2021 update, is about to kick off really soon. An official Microsoft video detailing the update and how to install it has been leaked by Aggiornamenti Lumia, and an official announcement could be made later today.

Windows 10 version 21H1 is currently available for commercial customers as well as Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring, and it’s a minor update that shares a common core with Windows 10 versions 2004 and 20H2. The main new feature in 21H1 is multi-camera support for Windows Hello, which will come in handy for Windows 10 users who own an external webcam that supports Microsoft’s authentication technology.
Last year, Microsoft waited until the last week of May to announce the release of Windows 10 version 2004, and the company did the same in November for Windows 10 version 20H2. We’ll see what happens in a couple of hours, but as today also marks the beginning of Google’s I/O developer conference, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Microsoft wanting to get Windows 10 in the news cycle.
As it’s been the case with Windows 10 updates over the years, the new version 21H1 will start rolling gradually to all users and it will appear in Windows Update once your PC is ready for it. Microsoft also released an ISO file for the final build earlier this month, and the company’s Windows Update Assistant app should be another way to install the update on PCs without having to wait for Windows Update.
