Latest Skype Preview update brings the option to show Skype on the lockscreen

Microsoft has released a new update to the Skype Preview UWP app, bumping the version to While there is no detailed changelog, the new version may bring the usual bug fixes and improvements but we also spotted one new feature: it's now possible to choose it as one of the apps that can show quick status on the lock screen:

This new feature is welcome as it definitely makes it easier to know if you recently received Skype notifications. However, the Skype Preview still can't be chosen as your app of choice to show detailed status on the lock screen.

Overall, the Skype Preview app is much better than the previous Windows Phone 8.1, but it's still slightly less functional: on Windows 10 Mobile, the app still can't be chosen as the app you want to use to turn a phone call into a video call. Additionally, it looks like there is still no way to delete Skype conversations, but a simple swipe gesture would do the trick and bring some consistency as both the Messaging app and the Outlook Mail app already use a similar gesture. Let us know in the comments what do you think of the Skype Preview app on Windows 10.
