Over the past few months, Skype has released a number of updates for its Mac client, introducing a number of useful features to improve the usability of the app. Not too long, the company released an update for Skype bumping it to version 7.7 and brings a very useful feature at the table — display previews of the links shared in chat.
When anyone of your contacts share a link in chat, it displays a preview in the chat window, making it easier for users to see what’s been shared. This also makes it easier for users to search for links as well. The company said the web link previews will be rolled out for Mac users and will make its way to other platforms in the coming months.
Apart from web link previews, the update also brings bugs and improvements to the app, including “an issue where some users cannot start Skype due to a corrupted index.”Further reading: Mac, Microsoft, Skype
