Killer Instinct: Season 3 still on track for March launch on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC

Killer Instinct on Xbox One

In a live stream done by the developers of Killer Instinct on Twitch.tv recently, a great number of things have been confirmed for the future of the fighting game. One of the most significant changes coming to the third season of Killer Instinct is its launch on Windows 10 PCs (that means that anyone running on Windows 7 or 8 won’t be able to play it on PC until they upgrade to the new OS).

This decision comes from the now inescapable ties between Xbox One and Windows 10, which are becoming one in the same more and more each day. With Xbox One itself running on Windows 10, it seems that supporting Killer Instinct on the now irrelevant versions of Windows would actively hold the game’s progress back. The decision is met with a lukewarm response from the community, many of which still have holdouts about upgrading to the improved version of Windows.

On top of the move to Windows 10, the stream also confirmed more community bundles, more ultimates for characters, and a larger roster of characters.  Season 3 should be rejuvenating many of the Killer Instinct fans that still need a reason to log in, and the new integration with the Windows 10 store is going to make it easier for the developers to support it. These new features, along with some unannounced changes on the way, show a bright future for Killer Instinct fans.
