JD.com to sell Xbox One in China, begins taking pre-orders
Starting today, the Chinese online retailer JD.com will begin accepting pre-orders of Microsoft’s Xbox One game console in China. The pre-orders will last until July 30th (Wednesday), and is exclusively available through JD. While, we are yet to get confirmation on the official pricing, the pre-orders only require CNY499 ($80) to reserve a console.
The second biggest e-commerce company has a partnership with Tencent, as a result of which, the pre-orders are being taken via Tencent Holdings’ mobile social networksm, Mobile QQ and WeChat, the company announced.
The Xbox One console will be arriving in China this September. The government recently lifted the decade old ban on video game consoles. Last week, China Telecom announced that it would sell the Xbox One exclusively.Further reading: China, Xbox One
