Intel working on 20 Windows 8 tablets, available later this year
According to Intel’s CEO Paul Otellini, the company is working on 20 Windows 8 tablets for launch later this year once Windows 8 is officially signed off and made available to the general public. Intel joins Samsung and other tablet makers as they prepare for Windows 8’s launch.
Intel is expected to build a Clover Trail version of its Atom chip, specifically for these Windows 8 tablets, but it is unknown exactly which of the 20 tablets will have this processor. Samsung is also jumping aboard the Windows RT bandwagon as a new report suggests that Samsung is planning on releasing a Windows RT-based tablet around October of this year, which is when the general availability of Windows 8 will take place.Intel, Microsoft, Windows 8
