The software giant Microsoft is the “most attractive employer” in India, according to a latest survey by HR services firm Randstad. Randstad released a comprehensive report on employer branding and employee perception, studying over 2 lakh (200,000) people from 1000 companies, the firm declared Microsoft to be the “most attractive employer” for the fourth year in a row.
Around 89 percent of the respondents said they would like to work for Microsoft. Google India and Sony India are the next most attractive employers. Whereas more than 70 percent of the respondents found IT, communication, telecom, and ITeS industry to be the most attractive sector to work.
“The Indian economy is showing positive economic movement and shifting into a higher gear, which will have a significant bearing on the attraction and retention of talent across sectors,” Randstad India managing director and chief executive Moorthy K Uppaluri said.
Employees consider competitive salary and employee benefits and long-term job security as the most important factors while choosing an employer, the survey revealed. While financial health of the company, good work-life balance, pleasant working atmosphere, and career progression opportunities are looked into as well. The survey also revealed that men often prefer competitive salary and job security, whereas women love better work atmosphere, accessibility, and flexible working conditions.
“With employee attrition on the rise, employer branding has become crucial, now more than ever, and companies are viewing this as a competitive differentiator tool’ to build great brands that will help them attract, manage and retain best talent”, Moorthy added.
