Indian smartphone maker, Lava, announces its foray into the notebook segment with Helium 14

Lava International, a smartphone brand from India, announced its entry into the notebook segment with the launch of Helium 14 in partnership with Microsoft and Intel. Before a slew of Chinese players entered the Indian market, Lava was one of the top domestic smartphone brands offering budget Android smartphones. It briefly flirted with Windows Phone as well.

The Windows 10-powered laptop aims to serve as a great companion for students as well as small-time business owners. For hardware security, the device packs in a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip.

Available in silver and purple color variants, the Lava Helium 14 is priced at ₹14,999 ($233). In the first phase of launch, the Lava Helium 14 is exclusively available on Flipkart while it will also be available select offline retail stores and other multi-brand outlets across Delhi NCR, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Bangalore from the first week of July.
