As Microsoft’s Office 365 services continue to gain momentum with its 25 percent growth over the last quarter the company is using its Ignite 2019 conference as a chance to announce a new Office Mobile app for Android and iOS. As we’ve previously reported, this app is similar to the older Windows Phone offering and will offer a one stop-place for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and common Ofice 365 tasks.

According to Microsoft, this new Office Mobile app makes it so that users will no longer need to download each of the Office 365 apps separately on iOS or Android. It has everything you need to be productive on the go, including access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint. The app also features an “Action pane” to help complete common tasks like creating and signing PDFs, and sharing files between devices. Interestingly, there even is a feature that allows users to snap a photo of a document and turn it into an editable word document. Users will even be able to take a photo of a printed table and turn it into an Excel spreadsheet.

“The new Office app uses the unique advantages of mobile devices to make content creation easier,”  said Microsoft. The new Office app is now available to Android users as a beta on the Google Play Store and iOS users through the Apple TestFlight program.
