A little more than a year after its release in the US, it looks like HP will release a Verizon-compatible version of its Elite x3 Windows Mobile handset in the US (via Windows Central). The new version of the business-focused device is exclusively available on the US Microsoft Store, but it’s out of stock at the time of this writing.
While this probably won’t help the 3-in-1 device get more traction in the country, this is still quite significant as the Elite x3 becomes the first native Windows 10 Mobile phone to support the Verizon’s CDMA networks. Verizon has never been a great Windows Phone supporter over the years, and customers using carrier exclusive Windows Phone 8.1 handsets such as the Lumia Icon or Lumia 735 had to wait before receiving the Windows 10 Mobile update.
