Probably the most-noteworthy change made to the Xbox One dashboard with today’s update is the visual revamp of the main screen that literally hides half of the custom background image chosen by each individual user.

While some people like the new aesthetic, there are still plenty who don’t like their chosen image being obscured. Thankfully there’s a way to get the full image to display again. Here’s how you do it.

  1. Open Settings either by saying “Xbox, go to Settings” to the Kinect or navigating to the Settings option from within the gear icon in the pop-up Guide.
  2. Highlight Personalization.
  3. Click on My color & personalization.
  4. In the Home & transparency drop-down menu, select Mostly transparent. Your custom background image should now be visible again.
