Home Shopping Network begins to sell Windows 8 laptops, claims to ship right away

Looks like the Home Shopping Network (HSN) has jumped the gun a little, offering Windows 8 laptops to customers of its website and claiming to ship these laptops right away, way before Windows 8’s official launch of October 26th. Are they for real?

The Home Shopping Network’s online edition, HSN.com, is offering five different Windows 8 powered laptops “on sale” just two weeks before Windows 8 is set to be officially launched. According to ZDNet, these laptops are in stock and will ship immediately when ordered. “All 5 computers are in stock and will ship right away when ordered,” an HSN representative stated. These laptops run Windows 8, and not Windows 8 Pro, as well as feature a trial version of Microsoft Office 2010 and other unnecessary bloatware. HSN appears to be the very first site to sell a Windows 8 powered laptop. On an interesting note, HSN is also offering video tutorials on their sale page and one of the videos is a tour of the “Start Bar” or whats known as the Charms Bar. Why are they calling it the Start Bar? More on this as it develops. Interested in buying one? Head over to HSN now!

Update: Looks like Microsoft has pulled the plug on this offer.
